When one thinks of a zebra being eating, I would normally think of a Lion feeding on one but when you think about it, Zebras need to drink and when the sun beats down you'd be forgiven for tempting fate for trying to have a drink in quiet down the local watering hole...

The Daily Telegraph said of this Reuters photo "the stricken animal was attempting to cross the Mara river in the Masai Mara game reserve in south-western Kenya when the reptile struck.

And the poor zebra's chances did not look very good as two of the croc's hungry friends lurked menacingly in front of it as well." Stricken Animal?

I say the Zebra was freaking lunch meat!

Elvis the Crocodile eats a lawnmower!

Elvis the Crocodile tried to eat his keeper but took a lawnmower instead....

A hungry saltwater crocodile named Elvis with an apparent affinity for household machinery charged at an Australian reptile park worker before stealing his lawn mower.

"Before we knew it, the crocodile had the mower above his head," Tim Faulkner a witness said.

"He got his jaws around the top of the mower and picked it up and took it underwater with him."

The reptile workers quickly left the crocodile's space. Elvis appeared to enjoy his newly acquired mower and sat guarding it until he was bribed with some Kangaroo meat to give up.

Nice attempt at a revolution pal but you should have held out for more....

Python kills and eats an Australian crocodile

We’ve found yet another reason to not visit Australia. If you weren’t up for the snakes that eat bats  or the hornets so big they eat spiders, be warned the snakes are actually so big they eat crocodiles:

Travis Corlis managed to capture the epic battle between a python and a crocodile at Queensland's Lake Moondarra, near the mining town of Mount Isa, Australia.

Admittedly the crocodile was only a baby being one metre in length but the struggle was impressive enough so much that Tiffany said, “We were sort of thinking that the snake had bitten off a little more than it could chew”. Ultimately the beast with no legs one and the crocodile was suffocated by the python’s death grip. 

We've actually seen this kind of battle a few times before, notably this anaconda versus alligator from the Everglades. This Aussie python managed to drag a walleroo up a cliff and this one just wasn't that smart at all. 

One last one, it's not just Australian pythons you have to watch out for, this python from Bali ate a cat and then threw it up!

Giant otter defeats and eats a crocodile

If you ever take a visit to Wellington, check out the Zoo.

It's quite a nice one and the animals are treated very well. The first animals you meet are a pair of the cutest otters you might have ever seen.

They run around their enclosure, splashing in the water and eating crabs and fish for lunch.

I'm not sure they ever seen a crocodile before but it's pretty clear this otter below has.

And has a taste for them:

This otter must be on fucking steroids! Look at that face. He's a monster!

He's a huge mother and he's managed to corner, capture and kill a crocodile.

Naturally one must eat his opponent after such an effort so he he is, eating the tasty flesh.

Here's a sweet video of a whole gang of otters taking down a caiman. Impressive stuff and nature at its finest indeed.

You gotta hand it to those Australian salt water crocodiles. They sure know how to make feeding frenzies look like the most violent bloodbaths. No idea what's been eaten but I'm pretty sure it's dead.

Which shark ate this crocodile?

This video shows a crocodile head that was found washed up on the beach of St Lucia by Brigitte Cary-Smith and husband Neale. Neale points out the shark teeth left in the head so it must have been an epic battle between the two predators.

It's nice to see the sharks getting one back over the crocodiles for once as usually they have a pretty tough time of it.

While not strictly an animal eating an animal photo, you do have to wonder what this baby croc was doing on the back of the hippo. Was he going to eat its ears?

Taken in Kruger National Park in South Africa, Richard Millar, the photographer said,"I came across this hippo in the water which at first had a heron on its back - then all of a sudden this small crocodile crawled up one side of it and sat on its back."

The coolest things happen in Kruger Park eh?

Crocodiles don't need to spend all day lying in wait for baby elephants to get them selves a feed - all they have do is swim around the river catching fish.

Fish are a good source of protein so it's natural for a crocodile to want to lock his jaws on a tasty morsel of piranha or shark!

Crocodiles attack Zebra and Wildebeast as they cross river

So these wildebeast below thought it would be a good idea to cross this river in the Maassai Mara National Park. Haven't they learnt from thousands of years that their ALWAYS a freaking crocodile just waiting to eat one of them for lunch? The above photos shows what happens when there's one lurking and when there's no Mick Dundee around to rescue with his 'this is a knife' your kinda screwed.



Not to be outdone by the wildebeasts' stupidity, this zebra though he might get in on the river crossing adventure too. The best things in life a free right? So a cool swim in the river might be the best thing this Zebra is gonna to today, right? Nope, he's gotta fight for his life as this crocodile managed to sneak up on him in all the chaos and confusion and lock his jaws on the Zebra's sweet hind:

But you know what? Contrary to what these pictures might suggest, the zebra and the wildebeast apparently escaped from the crocodile's jaws of death and actually lived. That's what Charlie Sheen would call winning!

Sadly for the Zebra's, they don't appear to win too often.

Man has escapes from the jaws of a crocodile by punching it in the head!

A north Queensland man has escaped from the jaws of a crocodile by punching it in the head.

The 37-year-old man was swimming with his two teenage daughters near Weipa when a two-and-a-half metre croc grabbed his arm and hand.

When the crocodile surfaced the man punched it several times until it let go.

He managed to get back onto land, but has two large puncture wounds to his back and about 10 wounds to his wrist and hand.

The attack happened at a popular waterhole at Beening Creek at Napranum, around 6:30pm last night.

Police say the Department of Environment and Resource Management is investigating and the crocodile may be removed.

The attack has renewed calls for crocodiles to be culled around communities on Cape York.

But Peter Graham from the Weipa Town Authority says everyone knows you should not swim in any of the waterways.

"It's something that nobody does here," he said.

"There's just too many of them and at Napranum they've trapped crocodiles in the past.

"They've been stalking the school ... there's just no shortage [them]."

And there is a challenge ahead for a Queensland wildlife officer who needs to find the crocodile.

Nick Rigby from the Department of Environment an Resource Management says the water hole has lots of crocodiles.

"In a situation like this we'll obviously go and have a look. If there is an animal that is behaving suspiciously and does so consistently then we may be able to identify that as the animal," he said.

"Obviously we don't want to be taking crocs out of the wild simply for the sake of it... It has to be the animal that's been involved in the incident."
